It is essential for you to know that unfortunately, it is not possible to use your credit cards or travel cheques in Iran. On the other hand, Money transactions take time and fees and it is better that you bring your trip expenses amount in cash.
You can always count on our Travel agent’s consultation in order to calculate the approximate amount of money to bring in cash.
In Big cities, you can change your money easily at Hotels, Exchange offices (Sarrafi) and some Banks.
US Dollars and Euros are quite more common and you can easily change even in some shops. Other currencies can be exchanged in big cities.

Also, we can give you a personal debit card so you can manage your money and your trip would be much safer. These cards are easy to Charge in advance and during your trip, you will refund the remaining money in the card at the end of your travel.
(In general, Iran is really safe, don’t worry, but paying by debit cards may be less confusing than in cash!)
The official currency is the Iranian Rail (IRR), and this currency is used on banknotes, but the currency used in daily deals by people is Toman. Each Toman is one-tenth of the Rial. For example, 10,000 Rials are equivalent to 1000 Tomans.
Most prices are written or told in Toman, So for example, if something is quoted 80000 it means 80000 Toman or 80 Toman ( In conversation they say Toman also to 1000 Toman ! ) equal to 800000 Rials.
It seems confusing but it is not really, as in case you order a jar of coffee costs 2 Tomans (means 2,000 Tomans or IR 20,000) and that in case you are buying a rug 3 Tomans (means 3,000,000 Tomans or IR 30,000,000).
