Khoresht-e-Ghormeh Sabzi (Persian Herb Stew)

Here we are, with recipe of a delicious Iranian national dish, Ghormeh Sabzi (Persian Herb Stew)

In this article we want to help you make an amazing Iranian dish. it’s usually serve with rice. its main food and can be served both for lunch and dinner.

Ingredients: red kidney beans, onion, turmeric powder, black pepper, beef, salt, Limu Omani, Sabzi (Special chopped herbs for Ghorme Sabzi).

Instruction: cut the onion in small pieces and sauté it with oil till it become lightly golden brown, add turmeric and ground pepper, and fried for an additional 1 minutes. add beans which you soaked last night and also beef which you sliced in 5 cm pieces. let them sauté together for 5 minutes, then add 5 glass of water and let them cook for 1 Hour.

While your meat and beans are cooking, lets fried your herbs. put chopped herbs in frying pan with oil and fry for 15 minutes till the vegetables` color change, take care not to burn them.

After 1.5 hour, add herbs, salt, 2 Limu Amani and 1 glass of water (if it need more add 2, Keep in mind that this stew should be moist but not watery) to meat and beans and let it cook for 1 more hours.

Taste it and base on your taste add more salt, paper or Limon juice.

Notes:

All steps of cooking, sauté and …. are with low heat.

This dish can be made with lamb or chicken instead of beef.

If you are Vegetarians, you can omit Beef and use black eyed peas instead.
