In all religions and cultures there is a belief in the Evil Eye, our country is not exempt from this issue either, we call it ‘Cheshm-e- Shour ‘which means Salty Eye.
Some believes that it’s not Superstition and it’s because of negative and positive energy that people emit. when a jealous person looks at some body or something with regret, their negative energy leads to jinx it.
There are many ways to get rid of Evil Eye in different cultures, the most famous of which are: Knocking on the wood, knocking on the head, throw salt back over the head, wear anti Evil Eye accessories, carrying blue eye or Khamsah (fifth finger) or even painting or tattooing this symbols …. and many other things.
But in our culture we used Esfand or Espand seeds (scientific name: Peganum Harmala). We burn Esfand seeds and when it starts making popping sound, circle the smoke of it around head and even house. this is a tradition from the days of Zoroastrianism.
Wonderful Iran Tour wish Cheshem-e-shour be far from you .
